Taxation on estate planning and trusts online course


The aim of this short course is to provide an overview of the key tax aspects relevant to estate planning and trusts, and to discuss recent legislative changes that affect them.

The course is aimed at refreshing the knowledge and application skills of financial planning students, professional advisers and fiduciary practitioners who have a foundational knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax, donations tax and estate duty, as well as the legislation relevant to estate planning (i.e. Wills, intestate succession, trusts and the patrimonial consequences of the different marital regimes).

Once you have successfully completed this course, you will be able to:
  1. Determine the relevance of tax aspects in the estate planning process.
  2. Apply knowledge of the key tax legislation relevant to estate planning and trusts, with a view to provide appropriate advice.
  3. Explain the recent changes affecting taxation in estate planning, as well as the impact on the taxation of trusts.
